The Champion 7-Ton is a compact gas log splitter – it offers a good power (check out the video below) but it’s still easy to move around, transport or store. Assembly takes a bit of time but isn’t complicated at all.

The Sun Joe LJ10M is a quality manual log splitter – there is no engine to do the work for you but it’s still very easy to operate, provides a solid power and the price is much lower compared to motorized units.

The Powerhouse XM-380 is a decent electric log splitter. It’s easy to use and provides enough power but unfortunately it also comes with several disadvantages and quality issues.

The WEN 56206 is a compact electric log splitter. It’s not overly expensive, has enough power for a typical homeowner needs and it’s fairly easy to move and store. However, it also comes with a few disadvantages.

The Boss Industrial ES7T20 is our most recommended log splitter – and also one of the most popular on the market. Fairly small but with a good power, it splits even large logs easily. Also it’s one of the few electric units with a one-handed operation.
