Compact, Lightweight and Easy to Use

cleaning both indoor and outdoor areasGreenworks 24012 is a nice little blower, ideal if you need a cheap tool for easier or occasional tasks – or if you’re tired of using your old gasoline unit, mixing fuel, inhaling fumes etc.

As other electric units it’s very easy to use and there’s almost no assembly required – you just snap the tube on, connect the extension cable and you’re ready.

Its compact size is a great plus as well – it’s easy to store, very light, you can easily handle it using just one hand (which makes it excellent for women, seniors or people with back or arm problems) and it’s also well balanced and maneuverable.

The noise level is okay, the only disadvantage is the electric cord which gets tangled or caught sometimes and forces you to work in a proximity of an electric outlet.

Enough Power for Lighter Tasks

For a tool that small and inexpensive the 24012 offers a decent power – enough for all the lighter cleaning tasks such as removing leaves, grass clippings, dirt, pine needles, sawdust or pollen mostly from hard surfaces like sidewalks, driveway, garage, patio, porch, deck and so on – it’s a lot faster, thorough and more fun to use than the traditional broom.

The cord lock

You can also use it to get rid of spider webs on the walls, dry your car or round the leaves from grass and flower beds into piles – the speed of 160 mph enables nice control and the blower is effective as long as the leaves are dry.

Single Speed

On the other hand (compared to the Toro 51585 for example) you cannot select a lower speed to get a gentler airflow for delicate areas like flowerbeds – you have to increase or decrease the distance from the object to achieve the desired effect.

Other Features or Problems

A few users reported uncomfortable vibrations in the unit – but the majority didn’t mention any problems of this sort.

The included cord lock definitely helps to prevent disconnecting of the electric cable – and a nice plus is also the 4-year warranty.

Conclusion:  If you need an inexpensive, compact and lightweight blower mostly for lighter jobs like cleaning your patio, driveway or garage and don’t mind dealing with an electric cord, the Greenworks 24012 would be a great choice for you. We can definitely recommend it.

It can deal even with dry leaves on grass, but for more difficult tasks we would rather recommend you the more powerful electric or even gas units. Also, it isn’t equipped with a vacuum and mulcher.

Frequently asked questions:

Are there any accessories I should buy?

If you don’t have an extension cord yet, you’re going to need one. The blower is 7 Amp which means both 50 feet or 100 feet 16/3 are acceptable.

Is there any maintenance needed?

No, the motor is an enclosed unit so no maintenance is required. Just clean the machine from debris and dirt.
