As we have already mentioned, the BLACK+DECKER LSW20 is designed for cleaning hard surfaces around your house, removing grass clippings, dust or other debris – and for this task it is perfect.
The super-light body (only 3.7 pounds!) makes it very easy to handle and maneuver using just one arm, the non-slip grip and good ergonomics help as well. Plus it’s really convenient to store thanks to its small size.
The battery-powered engine is quiet, there are no fumes, mixing gas or messing with an electric cord – you get a complete freedom of movement. And the assembly is easy, only some effort is needed to attach the nozzle.
Perfect for Lighter Jobs
For its size it offers a decent power, about 120 mph of air speed – it works really well on hard surfaces like patios, decks, sidewalks, driveway or garage. Ideal for a cleanup after moving and edging, removing all the grass clippings, dirt, dust or leaves – as long as they aren’t too damp.
For these kind of jobs it’s much more effective than a broom on one side or a powerful gas blower on the other – removing debris is easy, fast and thorough and with the lower air speed you don’t have to worry about blowing away gravel or mulch as well.

It’s also great for cleaning gutters (if they’re dry) – the low weight, maneuverability and absence of cord makes it easy to use even on a ladder.
On the other hand, it’s just that – an electric broom. Forget about rounding leaves into piles on grass, moving sticks, mulch or other heavier stuff. The built-in scraper helps to loosen wet debris from the surface, but the power is just too low for harder tasks.
Battery Working Time – Not Ideal
The LSW20 uses a 20-Volt Lithium-ion battery and users report about 10-15 minutes of continuous work on a single charge. That’s not much but as it will be used mostly for cleanup, even just one battery may be enough for all the work you need to do – or you can get one spare if you want to be safe or if you have a larger area to clean.
Good news is that the batteries are interchangeable with other Black+Decker 20V tools like string trimmer, pole saw, hedge trimmer, chainsaw and others – so if you already have any of those, you won’t have problems with spare batteries.
