The Karcher K 2.300 is a decent quality light-duty electric pressure washer – very lightweight and compact, inexpensive and capable of handling all the basic homeowner cleaning tasks. Its main disadvantage is a missing soap tank – only a siphon tube (to put into a bucket) is used.

Pros:
  • Lightweight, compact and portable
  • Not expensive
Cons:
  • only a siphon tube for detergent
  • a few users reported the unit stopped working after some time

Handling and build quality

With only 10 pounds, the K 2.300 is the lightest of all power washers we reviewed. It’s compact size makes it very easy to store or transport – and as all light-duty units it’s also quiet, extremely easy to use and inexpensive. The assembly is also quick and easy, just take a look at the video above.

The pressure hose and cord are long enough, some users reported there could have been a bit more room on the unit to store them with both the wands, but that’s not a big problem at all. What’s worse is that a few customers also complained the machine stopped working after a month or even after first use.

Power and areas of use

Compared to other light-duty pressure washers, the K 2.300 offers slightly higher PSI but also lower GPM – so we can say the power is approximately on the same level with the others. Its weight and size combined with that power makes it really great for various smaller cleaning projects – customers report using it for washing a car, vinyl siding, garden furniture, sidewalk, brick porch, garage floor, outdoor carpet, slate patio and with some effort and patience even for concrete driveway or preparing walls for painting.

Using the detergent siphon tube

But don’t expect the performance of 2,000 PSI units! You have to hold the nozzle really close to whatever you’re working on to get the dirt off, also the cleaning path is very small so washing a larger area would take forever.

As other Karcher washers it features two different wands – the DirtBlaster for tougher jobs and an adjustable Vario Power Spray for less intense cleaning, switching them is very easy. However, there is no soap tank or bottle, only a siphon tube on the back of the unit (see the picture nearby) that you put in a bucket with detergent. It works okay, but isn’t convenient if you need to move the unit – so if you would like to use cleaning fluids more often, we would rather recommend you this AR Blue model which has a small detergent tank.

And a Motor Stop function is also present – it switches the engine off when you release the trigger which means less stress on the pump and prolonging its life.

Conclusion:  If you want an inexpensive pressure washer for small, occasional cleaning jobs around your yard, the K 2.300 from Karcher would be a good candidate – lightweight, very easy to use, store or transport and with enough power for these simple tasks. However, the light-duty AR Blue Clean or Sun Joe units are slightly better in our opinion (you can compare them here).

Also, its power isn’t suitable for tougher jobs or larger areas so if that’s what you need, take a look at our most recommended medium-duty electric or gas powered units.
